ACT Study Group for Professionals 

Rotating Roles for Each Meeting 

Facilitator – Responsible for scheduling meetings and providing Zoom links.  Sends email follow-up with reminders of meetings and role assignments for each meeting.  Maintains records of attendance.  Provides a clear study agenda for meetings.  Provides a certificate of attendance when study group has concluded.  Does not rotate.  Doris Curry, LCSW will be the facilitator for this group.

Rotating Roles:

ACT Exercise Presenter -  In charge of presenting a brief 5 – 7-minute ACT exercise, such as: mindfulness/meditation, metaphor example, experiential exercise, etc.

Therapist – Conducts real/role play as therapist

Client – Participates in real/role play as client

Therapist Assistant – Provides 1:1 assistance with suggestions to Therapist when Therapist feels “stuck” in the real/role play

Process Observer – Keeps track of ACT processes exhibited during real/role play 

Case Presenter – Brings a case to meeting to present and discuss.  Uses ACT Assessment/Case conceptualization of choice.  (Jason Lillis & Jason Luoma’s provided.)
